blog worthy e-mail.

i know, i know...

2 posts in one day!

but this was so blog worthy i couldn't help but display it for all the world to see:

you know how i always mention my fmil??
i just need you to see an excerpt from the e-mail she just sent me:

"Have I mentioned lately how glad I am that you are my daughter-in-law? (Only
cause you have a camera and you can sew) :) love you"

yes, fmil...i am feeling the love.

metro.

i'm sure all of you...

{ahem, all 15 of you}

...heard about the metro wreck in d.c. on monday.

when i was working at elon university, i worked with a guy named jamarl. during my time there, our whole staff became really close. jamarl moved to d.c. one month before i left elon.

i received this e-mail from him yesterday:

Good Morning,

I am so overjoyed this morning! Yesterday I left the office which is located in Takoma Park to get on the metro. I was running so fast trying to make the 5 o’clock red line train that goes to Fort Totten metro station. I recall running and seeing the train go pass me and thinking to myself I was a minute late from getting on that train. The train I almost boarded was the train that had the collision that you all have heard about on the news. I was one minute away from taking that train, God kept me! It’s something how a minute can make a difference. Let us keep the family of those that lost love ones and those that are injured. Please don’t take life for granted. Have a blessed day! When I saw the sun come up this morning a tear came down my face because I got to see a new day!

ideal.

tonight worker man and i went on my ideal date night.

we went to hear chairman of the board and then walked around downtown greensboro taking pictures and just talking.

it was spectacular.

this is the only picture i took of us.
not good, i know...but i wanted a picture of us.

here are some pictures i took while we were walking around.

the slammer.

we were at worker man's best friend's house on saturday night.
he built a house in an area that is soon to be developed.
until the development takes place his neighbors are a little on the rough side.

i noticed these pictures hanging on the fridge.

these have all been clipped from the slammer, a paper printed of the people who have recently been arrested.

these are neighbors.

you may notice that some of the pictures are of the same person.
he has been arrested multiple times with his picture in multiple prints of the slammer.

like i said...

...a little on the rough side.

{oh, and...he only has pink kitchenaid clips because he's getting married and his fiance brought them. not because he likes pink}

Happy Birthday Teeter!

yesterday was teeter's birthday!

and because i was worthless and passed out on the couch after not one but two trips to a.c. moore, cutting worker man's hair, and a quick trip to walgreens...

{ahem, i know my life is way too much fun to handle. try not to covet it, really}

i didn't do a happy birthday post.

so here it is!

teeter, i hope your birthday was amazing. too bad i didn't take any pics of our lunch outing to mellow mushroom or your pretty little face would be slapped up here for all the world to see.

but seriously, thanks for all you do:
  • getting me a job
  • putting up with me every day
  • sharing your "whole package" {i.e. 2Shaye} with me
  • being my marriage counselor
  • laughing at my jokes, even when they're not funny
  • telling me stories about gogo boots and lumberjacks and a whole bunch of other yummy goodness

to sum up this ridiculously random birthday post...

...ummm...

happy birthday!

State Champion!

my brother's girlfriend, c, played in her senior state championship games this past weekend and....

they won!

the whole team was pumped.

c actually hit a homerun during her last time at the plate and they won 1-0.

we went to eat after the last game and when c was walking toward the door, dad actually pulled off his shirt for her to walk on to get to the door.

pretty uncharacteristic.
that's obvious by c's face.

the waiters at chilis came to sing a congratulations song for winning :)

i'd say c was pretty stoked.

creative!

worker man was working in the yard and needed a wheelbarrow.

he introduced me to the poor man's wheelbarrow.

the best part, the city even provides it!

fixer-upper.

Worker Man and I live in a house that was built in like 1720.

Just kidding.

I think it was in the 50s but it has a lot of "old" features.

One of the things is this door in our kitchen. If you open it there is an ironing board that folds out of the wall.

It's always been kinda weird trying to figure out what to do with it but this weekend FMIL came up with a genius idea.

We painted it with chalkboard paint.

I'm really excited about it!

groceries...basketball....groceries....basketball....BASKETBALL.

We took a trip to Costco for groceries and before we could even make it in the door we spent half of our grocery envelope money.

Worker Man spotted a fundraiser that would allow him to show off his skills.

We spent about 20 minutes watching him and FFIL shoot before we could go inside to get our groceries. Above is FFIL cheering him on :)

Worker Man was stoked about his high score for the day.

{ahem, please ignore the number one over all. just to clarify, it's a "6" "8" not 6B}

I don't think Marquis is scared yet.

Worker Man was still pumped.
