Exciting news!

Y'all!  I am SO excited to be here this morning!  I have been absent from this place for quite a while now.  Only writing a post occasionally.  And, let's be honest, for a long time it's because I was in survival mode and the blog did not make the cut when my list consisted of:  keeping twin babies alive, sleeping, running to maintain my sanity, going on an occasional date night and blogging.  Yeah...blogging was at the bottom of the list.

But, once I finally got through the chaos that was the first year of the twin's life, I started filling my time with things in addition to my survival list.  But, again, the blog was low on the priority list.  Hence the sporadic posts.  And now, for the last two months, I've been working my hiney off on something super exciting.  Something that's been coming for years now but I've finally bit the bullet and made it happen!

I have a new website coming!  On October 1st!  My blog will be migrated to jennyconklin.com!  And not only will my blog be there, I will also have a Moxie Made shop and my Jenny Conklin Photography galleries!  Is it a little crazy and out of the ordinary for me to have all of this on one site?  Yes, probably.  But it makes the most sense for me right now.

I am so excited I can hardly stand it!  And, I can't wait for you to see it.

Now, excuse me while I go lock myself away for the next 10 days getting everything finished up for you to see!

Happy Saturday, y'all!  I hope your weekend is fabulous!

sneak peak - the trinidads!

I had the opportunity to photograph the sweet Trinidad family again this year at the beach.  Sweet baby girl #3 is coming in November so it was a fun opportunity to photograph their family before her arrival.

The girls are becoming more and more beautiful by the second.  I am so serious.  But, not only are they so beautiful, they have some of the sweetest hearts.  I am always so impressed with how well behaved they are (gosh, how old am I?) and I'm also always in awe of the way Gretchen and Alvaro parent.  They are so incredibly intentional with their girls and I am so thankful for that example.  It definitely pushes me to be more intentional in my parenting which is sometimes so hard!

We had a great time at the beach and the girls were thrilled at the end when they got to spend a little time running in the water :)

sneak peek - wells is one!

Y'all may remember Rob, Joy and Wells from previous photo shoots.  I think one of my favorite things is photographing a family over and over again.  I got to take Joy's maternity pictures, Wells' newborn pictures and photographed his first birthday (need to post those sometime!).  And then, I got the opportunity for a one year old photo shoot.  Wells is one of the happiest babes ever.  He loves his mama and daddy, hates the grass and is super smiley!

sneak peek - alex + maggie's wedding

I had the privilege of photographing the sweetest wedding back in June.  Alex and Maggie are both from North Carolina but live in New York City.  They had their wedding in Raleigh in a small, southern chapel and their reception at a gorgeous historic home.  It was such an incredible celebration.  The entire day was perfect down to every detail.  And their ceremony?  I could go on and on about it.  When the doors opened and the bride walked down the aisle, I was completely speechless.  It was a breathtaking moment.  The music was perfect.  The surroundings were perfect.  She was stunning.  I started to cry (which I typically hold back when I'm photographing a wedding)!  I loved every second of it.  It was such a blessing to get to capture their day!

Because I have so many pictures I want to post, I figured I'd post some details first.  Tomorrow I'll be back with images of the bridal party and ceremony!  Enjoy!

twin newborn shoot - brooks + hadley!

I've been dying to post these images for a while now!  Some of the pictures were used for a birth announcement so I was holding off on posting them until the announcement went out.  Well, the announcement has been out for a while and I am finally posting them!

Unfortunately, when my twins came home from the NICU, I didn't do a good job of photographing them.  I was sleep deprived and having a hard time brushing my teeth.  I couldn't even think straight enough to take some decent pictures.  Thankfully, my sister-in-law came to the rescue and took some newborn pictures for us.  But, I was sad to miss the opportunity to photograph newborn twins.  Well, recently I got the opportunity when my sweet nephew and niece were born (different sister-in-law:))!

Enjoy!

(This last photo was a snapshot at the end of our session.  I think it was Katie's favorite because it exemplifies their personalities perfectly!  Hadley is freaking out and Brooks is thinking, "Now you see what I've had to deal with in-utero for the last 9 months")
