Yes, it's what you think it is...

I'm embarrassed to show this but....

This is Worker Man from last Sunday. Yes, last Sunday as in February 15th.

And yes, that is our Christmas tree in the back.

It has been sitting outside in our yard (to the side at least) since the first week in January.

There.

I confess.

Glad I got that off my chest.

Wii-in' it!

Worker Man and I went round and round about what we should get each other for Christmas. We realized that everything we were going to be asking for was practical and that's just no fun.
So, we decided to get each other a Wii for Christmas.

It was such a great idea. It has been sooo fun!!

The other night, two of my S&C girls came and we played Wii Fit for a while.

KC attempting to head a soccer ball.

MJ also making the attempt.

About a month ago, we had Leslie and Brad over for supper.

I never got a picture of Brad playing but here's a picture of him hanging out.

Worker Man boxing...

Leslie workin' it. She was NO joke.

We also took it to my parent's house when we got it. This was our first night on the Wii Fit Board so it took everyone a while to get used to it.

Worker Man about to fall off.

Me trying to ski. I think I get a little too into it.

SL picking her nose/playing the Wii. She'll appreciate this picture, I'm sure.

And, I'm sorry to have to post this but I need for y'all to understand our dedication/addiction:

Colby (my brother) gave Worker Man some Wii boxers for Christmas.

Scott Family Christmas

After we wake up and do Christmas at my parent's house, we go to my PaPa's (Dad's dad) house. We all make breakfast, read the Christmas story and open gifts.
We have a few gag gifts mixed in that get passed to different people each year.
Last year, because Worker Man was new to the family, he received two of the gag gifts. We left them with my mom to keep till this year because we knew that with all the moving chaos we would probably lose them. This year we were trying to find them and realized that my papa's old driver's liscense that we pass around was missing. So, we replaced it with this picture as a temporary until we could find the liscense.
Here is my uncle (Dad's youngest brother) posing beside it. Identical twins??

The next thing we had to hand off was this donkey hat. When you push a button, it starts to bray like a donkey and wiggle it's ears. Hilarious.
Worker Man wanted to give this to my dad's sister, NJ.

Here are some pictures from the rest of the morning:

We definitely had a good time. This is the end of my Christmas 2008 posts. I also forgot to take pictures at my mom's side of the family. Don't know what I was thinking!

Christmas Morning and Happy Birthday Mom!

So, for some reason, I totally forgot to take any pictures at Nanny and Grandaddy's house (Worker Man's grandparents). We celebrated at their house on Christmas Eve and had a blast! We had a brunch at Joy's house that was hosted by Jana and Joy and then we went to Nanny's for the rest of the Christmas festivities.
We left their house and drove two hours to my parent's house. We got there about 11:30 and waiting till 12 to sing Happy Birthday to Mom. We decided to give her birthday presents to her then. I asked Worker Man to grab it from the car.
He went out there to get it and came back empty-handed.
I knew he had looked just like any other guy would look for something. Not picking anything up or moving anything around. Just scanning the top layer and saying it wasn't in there. So, I headed outside to find it...I tore the entire car apart but still....no birthday present. .
Not only did I have to apologize and tell Worker Man that he was right, but I didn't have my mom's birthday present!!!
Here are some pictures from 12 am and the next morning.

The next morning:

Colby, even at the age of 19, still wakes up during the middle of the night to look at what Santa brought and then goes back to bed. Then, he wakes up at 6 for us to open gifts.

Obviously we all look like death, because who in their right mind wakes up at 6 am to open gifts?

But, we still had a great time and got a ton of good stuff.

Worker Man's Family Christmas

So, I'm a little late, but I feel like I need to document the rest of Christmas before I can return to my random, newly-wed bliss (ahem.) postings.

After the first Christmas with Bon Bon, Don Don, and NJ we had Christmas with Worker Man's family. We had lunch after church and spent the entire afternoon (and evening) hanging out opening presents, being entertained by EC (the first granddaughter), riding around and playing games.

Here are some pictures:

Worker Man with his reindeer ears (a gift in everyone's stocking).

The Trinidads!
(Worker Man's sister, brother-in-law and EC)
Worker Man's brother and wife couldn't be there :(

Worker Man helping EC open her magnadoodle we gave her.

Big Al playing with the magnadoodle. I think he liked it more than EC :)

Worker Man got a new front door!
He actually installed it yesterday.
ALL BY HIMSELF!
My dad was uber impressed (which says a lot)!

Worker Man's parents get each of their kids (us included) three gifts.
I got 3 AMAZING gifts this year.

Frye Harness Boots
(I've been dying for them)

Gorgeous Aldo Heels

and

REI daypack

I LOVED everything but even more important than the gifts we all got, is the blessing of spending time together.
We had a wonderful time and it was definitely a time of thanksgiving for me. I realized over this Christmas season how blessed I am to have married into such a phenomenal, God-loving family.

The Christmas Kickoff

On Saturday night we had Christmas with Bon Bon, Don Don, Norma Jean and Mammie.

We had such a great time. Mom made an incredible candle-lit supper and we spent time enjoying each other. It was nice to just have time to sit and enjoy one another over coffee and dessert. Talking and laughing and just spending precious time together.

Then...it was time for presents!

We got some great stuff.

Worker Man got some camo pants, a Lowe's Hardware gift card, and a sweater. I got some of the coolest things. I got a great pair of new gloves, some replacement wallflowers from Bath and Body Works. I LOVE them! A Burberry scarf, Burberry perfume, a fabulous gerbera daisy umbrella, new towels, and new curtains!

I got wayyyyyy too much!

Here are a few pictures from the night:
