Like I mentioned in my previous post, we spent the weekend before last in the mountains with friends.  We had a really good time.  Pretty much doing a lot of nothing.  Playing cards, building a fire, getting in the hot tub, sleeping late, eating lots of junk food.

Oh and looking at this view:

It was amazing.



We are definitely blessed to have good friends!

I don't know if I've mentioned lately, but I love this man.  I'm so thankful for him.  And his crazy personality.  And I'm thankful for the fact that he's still talking to me after I posted his recent modeling shoot.

We went to see the horses, spent time playing with the baby, sat in front of the fire, watched some basketball and football, and admired the awesome house!

So thankful for a chance to get away.

And enjoy such an incredible place!

The Christmas Kickoff

On Saturday night we had Christmas with Bon Bon, Don Don, Norma Jean and Mammie.

We had such a great time. Mom made an incredible candle-lit supper and we spent time enjoying each other. It was nice to just have time to sit and enjoy one another over coffee and dessert. Talking and laughing and just spending precious time together.

Then...it was time for presents!

We got some great stuff.

Worker Man got some camo pants, a Lowe's Hardware gift card, and a sweater. I got some of the coolest things. I got a great pair of new gloves, some replacement wallflowers from Bath and Body Works. I LOVE them! A Burberry scarf, Burberry perfume, a fabulous gerbera daisy umbrella, new towels, and new curtains!

I got wayyyyyy too much!

Christmas Parade!

A few weeks ago we went to the Christmas parade in our town. It was a lot of fun.

We live close to Main Street so we walked up (in the freezing cold) to watch.

The day of the parade was a day AFTER her due date.

Sidenote: She and J just had their precious son K on Monday. 8 lbs. 15 oz.

You can't really see this from the picture, but that is the city's Shag Club. Worker Man saw it coming and tried to get me to look the other way.

He's not so fond of it. I'm trying to talk him in to joining. Yes, even though everyone on that float is 50+ years old. (FMIL, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being 50+)

Then there was a long string of "Hillbilly cars"

You know, the ones that backfire and have people in them that only have 2 teeth.

They were really fun...

Then, there were some random things.

Since it's a small town, they let anybody and everybody join in.

This came down the street and I didn't even know what to do with myself.

Just to make sure you understand, it's a car pulling a golfcart with stuffed animals all over it...

I thought that was pretty bad until I saw this...

Yes, it's a poop pumper. I think that is poop stain running down the tank to the left of the "S"

But, not only did they have this one, but they needed to display their new poop pumper as well...

BooMama's Christmas Tour of Homes

It's here!

I've been looking forward to BooMama's tour but it has taken me some time to get pictures of everything and find time during this busy season to blog...

Welcome to our home!

Here's the front door.

(We have to come up with a new system for next year, but right now there are all kinds of cords running so we can't actually go in this door....whoops!)

Instead, we'll go in through the side door.  

I love this wreath!  My mom bought it for me a few weeks ago.  It's made out of jingle bells so it's a good little holiday sound to hear as we come and go.

The presents are kinda all over the place.  Next year I plan to use all the same Christmas paper.  A couple of rolls from Costco and I should be good to go.  It makes it look better if everything matches...

My mom bought me Christmas trees to go on either side.  They match our living room perfectly! 

Mom gave me this little Christmas tree to put in the kitchen.  It's really cute.  

She has so much Christmas stuff and since we just got married, she let me borrow some of her Christmas stuff :) 
I bought my mom and FMIL a nativity scene when I was living in Peru last summer.  I don't have a nativity scene so mom sent the one I bought for her home with me.  I really wish I had bought one for myself but I wasn't planning on being married and wifey by this time....

Today, I would like to introduce you to a little piece of heaven:

If you don’t know what this little dial operates, you are truly missing out. This is the dial for my precious electric blanket. It is the most amazing $30 purchase my mom ever made. Not only is there one dial, but TWO! It’s dual-controlled. This didn’t matter before I got married but I knew it would come in handy when Worker Man and I started using it and disagreeing on how high it should be.

When it started to get cold about 3 weeks ago, Worker Man put the blanket on our bed (because I asked him to). He thought it was the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard of. When I went into the bedroom, my dial was sitting nicely on the night stand and I asked Worker Man where he had put his since he doesn’t have a nightstand on his side. Worker Man/TOUGH GUY responded, “I didn’t plug my side in. I put it back in the closet ‘cause I ain’t usin’ one of those sissy thangs”. I just thought to myself, “We’ll see about that”.

Welllll, recently it’s gotten really cold outside and one of my favorite things to do during the fall/early winter is to sleep with the windows open (especially when I have my electric blanket on the bed). I sleep SO good when it’s freezing cold in our room with the fan going and the window open and I’m as snug as a bug in a rug (or an electric blanket).

Then it (the “we’ll see about that” part) happened. It was SUPER cold one night and I was at the perfect temperature with my electric blanket set on 8-9 and it being about 35 degrees outside. Slowly but surely I felt a pinkie toe creep over onto my side of the bed. I sat straight up in bed and demanded to know what Worker Man thought he was doing! He quickly jerked his foot back and protested that it was only an accident. Throughout the night, the accident happened repeatedly until finally the tough guy and I were both on half of the bed under the “sissy” side of the covers.

I think I might plug in his side tonight so I can sleep on my side without an arm and leg hanging off the bed.

will be no open windows while the heat is on without Worker Man going into cardiac arrest.
